Letter From the Board
We're very excited to add the Concord River to our cleaning sites, due to the development of the Concord Greenway by the Lowell Conservation Trust.
The Lowell Canalwaters Cleaners Board of Directors would like to thank our National Award Winning Volunteers for another successful year cleaning the Canals and the Riverwalk, and in making Lowell a better place!
We'd also like to thank our many Partners for helping us in our endeavors, including: The Lowell National Historical Park Service; The City of Lowell; Keep Lowell Beautiful; The Revolving Museum; Lowell High School; The Community Greenhouse; along with our Grantors, including The Parker Foundation and the Massachusetts Environmental Trust.
Without the help of the above we would not have been able to continue our bi-weekly cleanups of the water ways during the warm months in different sections of the city; the continuing Education Initiative which we are implementing at the high school; assigning sections of the canal ways and Riverwalk to neighborhood Stewardship groups; and participating and helping other non-profits in projects benefiting the City.
All of our Volunteers give up numerous hours of their own time while contributing to make Lowell a nicer place. So when you see our groups out there on a Saturday morning picking up the trash, please tell them good job or give us a honk or wave! Or better yet, come and join us some morning and make a difference! Our website is: www.canalwaters.org
Thank You!
The Board of Directors of The Lowell Canalwaters Cleaners
